De Tomaso Club Sweden

The Swedish DeTomaso club was started by five enthusiasts at Kinnekulle in May 1979. At the formation of the club, Mats Gorski was elected its chairman and retained that position until 2005!

In 1979, there were only a handful of cars in Sweden. Today there are about 175 pieces. The club today has about 180 members from all over Scandinavia. The purpose of the club is to promote the ownership of DeTomaso and to disseminate information about the brand. Please note that owning a DeTomaso is not a requirement for membership. We recommend that DeTomaso speculators contact us at an early stage so that we can help and inform so that buying / selling is as successful as possible for both parties.

In addition to the club magazine, a membership register and a nice calendar are available every year.

We organize a couple of meetings every year, the largest of which used to be at the Automobile Sportscar Show in Mantorp. Since the closure of that meeting, we have varied the gatherings, but generally it will be in connection with a major exhibition or competition. Every other year we go down to Europe on a club excursion to broaden the views a bit.

The club is affiliated with MHRF, the Swedish Motor History Association, and members can thus take out very favorable insurance with Folksam. A nice car that is fully insured costs about SEK 700 per year. This includes any spare parts you have in the garage for up to a basic amount! We also have good contact with Länsförsäkringar.
